Ashley Carter, Founder & CEO

An operator's perspective

Ashley Carter is the Founder and CEO of ASX Consulting LLC, a management and organizational consulting firm that works with nonprofit and corporate leaders to strengthen their organizations, improve how they operate, and address the challenges that often stand between strategy and execution.

With more than 15 years of experience leading human resources and operations, Ashley brings an executive-level understanding of what it takes to manage people, resources, competing priorities, and organizational change. Her work spans organizational strategy, operational improvement, leadership development, workforce management, and organizational design.

Ashley is known for her ability to examine organizational challenges from multiple perspectives, ask the questions that need to be asked, and work collaboratively with leaders to develop solutions that are both thoughtful and practical. Rather than arriving with predetermined answers, she takes the time to understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what the organization is realistically positioned to change.

How Ashley's experience shapes the work

Ashley understands that decisions made at the leadership level have consequences throughout an organization, and that even well-intentioned strategies can fall short when the systems, structures, and people responsible for carrying them out are not aligned. She approaches consulting with the understanding that every organization has its own history, culture, strengths, and challenges.

As a Black woman, mother, and organizational leader, Ashley also brings a personal understanding of how workplace policies, leadership decisions, and organizational cultures can shape people's opportunities and experiences. That perspective informs her commitment to fairness, accountability, and building organizations where people are respected and equipped to contribute meaningfully. Through ASX Consulting, she combines strategic guidance with hands-on experience to help organizations put meaningful improvements into practice.
